Senator Pileggi Meets with Local Elected Officials

Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-9) recently concluded a series of meetings with local officials during which a wide variety of issues were discussed, including open space, planning and development, renewable energy, health care, regional cooperation, and open records.

"These meetings provided a great opportunity to hear about the problems and opportunities facing local communities," said Sen. Pileggi. "We had great turnout, and the dialogue was extremely productive. I look forward to continuing this kind of discussion both formally and informally."

Sen. Pileggi met with officials from townships, boroughs and cities across the Chester County portion of the 9th Senatorial District in a series of four "Conversations About Our Communities" events, held on Sept. 6 in the West Chester area, Sept. 20 in Parkesburg, Oct. 9 in Oxford, and Oct. 10 in Toughkenamon.

"The officials who took part in these conversations provided a lot of valuable input," said Sen. Pileggi. "But perhaps the biggest thing I took away from the discussions is a sense of genuine enthusiasm. Our local leaders are passionate about improving the areas they represent, as I am, and that passion can only lead to a brighter future."

Sen. Pileggi and his staff will follow up on issues raised during the discussions. As the former mayor of Chester, Sen. Pileggi has first-hand experience in working to address the challenges facing local communities. The 9th Senatorial District includes 25 Chester County municipalities and 19 Delaware County municipalities.
